LOVING ALL OUR NEIGHBOURS
The School Council is a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and helps to make improvements to the school. Elections are held during October to elect two representatives from each year group from Year 1-6 to form the Council. Each member's term of office is for one year.
The purpose of the School Council is:
The School Council meets regularly. An agenda is sent out in advance with important discussion points to be explored and prepared in class prior to the meeting. A 'Drop Box' is emptied each week and contains ideas for School Council to discuss. These are submitted by pupils of all ages. School Council feedback to pupils at the beginning of collective worship.
Reports from the School Council are submitted to the Headteacher and the Governing Body every term. The School Council has been responsible for many successful Charitable campaigns by running many fundraising events. The most successful last year was been a lunch time obstacle course organised and run by School Council.
Our local Mayor of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, Councillor Nick Daubney, presented School Council members with their badges in a special celebration assembly on 18th October 2019. After meeting with the Mayor, the School Council was able to identify many similarities such has how our own School Council is elected and the role it plays in supporting the school and its pupils. This prepared them well for their visit to the Houses of Parliament on 15th November 2019.
