Children can have a school meal or bring a packed lunch of their own
School Meals
School meals at The Village Saints Partnership are provided by Aspens and cooked onsite in our brand new kitchen. Menus are changed regularly, and rotate on a three week cycle. Meals to celebrate special events are also offered.
Jacket potatoes, a pasta dish, a packed lunch and a vegetarian option are all available every day.
Pupils can choose to have hot dinners on a daily basis. We request that you pay for these online via ParentMail - please contact the school office for advice on how to do this.
Criteria For Free School Meals
You are eligible if you are in receipt of the following:
- Income Support;
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance;
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance;
- Child Tax Credit, as long as you do not get Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) does not exceed £16,190;
- Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999;
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit;
- Universal Credit (with an annual take home pay of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods).
All pupils in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.

Packed LunchesList Item 1
Children may bring a packed lunch to school. This should be clearly labelled with your child's name. We do not provide refrigeration facilities, and so we recommend the use of insulated lunch bags and ice packs, especially in the hot weather. Please try to ensure that the lunch your child brings to school is healthy and balanced, with no sweets or fizzy drinks. Drinks bottles/food containers should be unbreakable. As part of our committment to the environment, we encourage reusable containers that keeps packaging/rubbish to a minimum.
We do not dispose of rubbish/left overs at school, so that you can see what your child has eaten.
If you child does not bring a packed lunch to school, we will provide a school dinner that will require payment.

Snacks and WaterList Item 3
Children are encouraged to drink throughout the day, and may bring a bottle of water to school. Healthy snacks at break time are encouraged. Fruit is provided for children in Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) and Key Stage 1.
